Becoming a chiropractor is no joke – it takes a lot of hard work and dedication! Chiropractic college is where you’ll get the training you need to become a pro at diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions. But what does that training actually involve?
Well, first up is anatomy and physiology – you’ll need to know your stuff when it comes to bones, muscles, nerves, and all the other systems in the human body. This takes about 570 hours of coursework.
Next, you’ll study pathology – that’s the study of diseases and how they affect the body. This takes around 205 hours of coursework.
Of course, you can’t be a chiropractor without knowing your way around a few chiropractic techniques! You’ll spend around 295 hours learning about manual adjustments, instrument-assisted adjustments, and other therapies.
Then there’s diagnosis – you need to know how to identify and diagnose musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions. This takes about 320 hours of coursework.
Once you’ve got all that down, you’ll move on to clinical sciences – this is where you’ll actually get some hands-on experience treating patients under the guidance of experienced chiropractors. You’ll need to complete around 820 hours of coursework in this area.
And last but not least, there’s business management – you need to know how to market your practice, manage finances, and run a successful business. This takes about 65 hours of coursework.
All in all, becoming a chiropractor is no walk in the park, but if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, it can be a rewarding career helping people achieve optimal health and wellness.
